F&Q
Do I need any previous experience?
Not at all. The experience is beginner-friendly, and an artisan will guide you through each step.
How do I choose which piece to make?
You can choose from several creations, including lacquer beads, chopsticks, gourds, cups, and bookmarks. Each involves a slightly different process and experience time.
Can I take my piece home after the experience?
Yes. Your chosen creation is yours to keep. Depending on the technique, the artisan will also explain any drying or care instructions before you leave.
Will the lacquer stain my clothes?
As this is a hands-on craft experience, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing and avoiding anything too delicate.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes. The workshop is arranged by appointment, and booking ahead also allows us to prepare the materials for your chosen piece.
Can children join the experience?
Yes. Children aged 5 and above can join and create their own lacquerware piece with guidance from the instructor.
